I'm pretty new to calling myself a writer. At the moment, my writing is very linked to my acting. In the past couple years, I found myself wanting to create projects for myself and my friends to work on. So that's what I've been doing...
making my own work
While in the acting company at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, I wrote short films, FOREST FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS, BFF'S, THE TRANSCRIPT and JESSE. With the help of my friends there, I was able to put them on film, starring myself and my fellow OSF acting company members, and make my first foray into writing, directing, and producing. In the spring of 2017, a 10 minute play I wrote about the anxiety of turning 30, "Camping," was featured in a monthly evening of short plays at The Tank Theater, starring Lili Stein, Olivia Stoker, and Eli Gelb.
I'm currently developing a somewhat autobiographical series, ABOUT FACE, centering on being female, biracial, an artist, and invisible in New York City.
